Heike graduated in 1996 from University of Leipzig, where she studied for a further five years to become a specialist in orthodontics. During her training she was involved in multidisciplinary treatments of patients, including patients born with cleft-lips and cleft-palates. Her dissertation continued this work and won the Carl Zeise Award in 2001 for the best doctorate thesis in her year. Since moving to the UK in 2003, she has worked as a locum consultant at King's College Hospital, Royal Surrey Hospital and at several private practices.

She especially enjoys the treatment of complex cases in adults and children and works closely with other dental specialists to ensure the best possible outcome for each patient. Heike is experienced at using all types of orthodontic appliances and has a special interest in treating patients with less visible and more discreet appliances like lingual braces, which are fitted onto the back of a patient's teeth.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and two children, and likes to get creative at her local pottery studio.
